Members newsletter – December 2025
Welcome to the December newsletter from BFCISA.
In the final update of the year, we will focus on two of the four priorities set by members – Ticketing and Supporter Representation – with a short update on Ground Facilities.
Most importantly, we have now launched our Ticketing Survey. The link is included below, along with more information.
Please feel free to reply directly to this email with your thoughts, experiences, or issues as your input directly shapes our work.
In Brief – This month (Dec)
Our Ticketing Survey is now live, helping us build a clearer picture of members’ experiences, we have formally backed the FSA’s latest campaign demanding a price freeze on season tickets and the date for the first BFCISA AGM is confirmed.
In Brief – Last month (Nov)
Following supporter feedback, away team coaches were moved to ease congestion which we pushed for since the start of the season. We announced the short ticketing survey to capture members’ experiences alongside initial plans for our first AGM.
Ticketing
Ticketing Survey launched
Since the ISA launched in May, ticketing issues have been one of the most frequent concerns raised by members. Individual cases often build into wider themes, so our aim is to capture a clear snapshot of what supporters are experiencing right now.
In last month’s newsletter therefore, we previewed our BFC ISA survey focused specifically on ticketing issues.
Last month we previewed the launch of our Ticketing Survey, it is now live and will run for the next few weeks: BFCSA – Ticketing Survey
We encourage all members, whether your experiences have been positive or negative, to take part. The results will help us present a fuller and more accurate picture of what is happening at the club.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed.
Support for FSA’s latest campaign
The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), of which we are a proud affiliate, recently launched the Protect the Fans, Protect the Game campaign. Among its proposals is a call for Premier League clubs to commit to a two-season freeze on home ticket prices for 2026/27 and 2027/28.
With the cost of watching football continuing to rise, we were keen to get a snapshot of members’ views. We ran a poll on X and invited supporters without access to the platform to email us their thoughts and the response was clear.
Across roughly 200 replies, 82% supported the FSA’s proposal. Although season ticket prices at Turf Moor remain lower than many Premier League clubs, this is something that should be protected, not exploited.
We are therefore pleased to be a signatory to the campaign and fully support Protect the Fans, Protect the Game.
Supporter Representation & Communication
Date set for first BFCISA AGM
We’re delighted to confirm that the first ever BFCISA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on 23rd March 2026.
Since launching in May, the small group who established the association have served as an interim Steering Group, with the aim of building the framework needed for our first democratically elected committee to be chosen at the AGM.
This is central to what the ISA is. We hope every member will consider standing for a committee position, regardless of experience.
Formal notice of the AGM will be issued in the new year, including details of the meeting and clear instructions on how to nominate yourself.
As always, this is your organisation, please consider using your voice.
If you have any questions at all about standing, let us know at enquiries@burnleyfcisa.com.
Fixture scheduling, TV and transport
Football fans at every level have become increasingly familiar with the issue of games being moved for TV, and this is something that’s particularly pronounced in the Premier League given the demand of the broadcasters.
Recent weeks have seen two more Burnley fixtures selected for TV, meaning scheduling changes: Sky Sports’s coverage means the home game with Newcastle will kick-off at 7.30pm on Tuesday 30th December, and the game at home to Manchester United will kick off at 8.15pm on Wednesday 7th January.
Elsewhere we’ve seen further erosion of the traditional Boxing Day fixtures, with the Premier League blaming UEFA for the fact that, this year, there is only one top flight game on 26th December.
While TV is here to stay, BFCISA notes that any fixture change – big or small, home and away – has an impact on match going fans. Fans need and deserve certainty and time to plan – there are still too many examples of games being moved without adequate notice, often bringing unwanted cost, disruption and disappointment.
Fixture disruption must be kept to a minimum and – when it does happen – it should be done correctly and fairly. We support the FSA calls on this matter, including ensuring twelve weeks’ notice whenever possible to make things affordable for travelling fans.
This is an issue we’ll be keeping a close eye on so, as ever, if you have any views or want to tell us how this has affected you, do get in touch.
Ground Facilities & Issues
Since the start of the season, the new matchday access and exit arrangements at Turf Moor have caused congestion and difficulties for many supporters.
BFCISA previously asked for clarity on these issues from the club, who told us the plans had been approved by safety authorities. Following continued feedback, the club have now moved the away team coaches further from home exits to help ease congestion.
However, where supporters perceive a safety issue, we will continue to represent them.
We now have an indication from our representative who sits on the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) that further arrangements are being made, particularly around additional exit routes on matchdays, which we hope will ease congestion further.
If you have friends, family, colleagues or fellow Clarets that may be interested, continue to spread the word and get them to sign up through the following link – https://www.burnleyfcisa.com/join-bfc-isa/
As always, BFCISA is volunteer-led and open to anyone who’d like to help. If you’re interested in joining the steering group or lending your skills in another way, please get in touch, especially if you can help us broaden the perspectives we represent.
Up the Clarets and Merry Christmas,
