Barry Kilby becomes President
The Burnley FC ISA Steering Group are delighted to confirm that former Burnley Football Club Chairman Barry Kilby has accepted our invitation to become President of the Association which was launched last month.
Barry, a youth team player and a lifelong Burnley supporter, joined the Board of Directors in the Autumn of 1998 and became Chairman following the AGM at the end of that year, a position he held until the end of the 2011/12 season when, following a prostate cancer diagnosis, he stood down and gave way to John Banaszkiewick and Mike Garlick.
He remained a Director, later becoming Vice-Chairman, until the ALK takeover at the end of 2020 and is still an avid supporter, along with his family, and rarely misses a home game.
He told us: “I’ve followed Burnley all my life and had the honour of serving the club as Chairman. One thing that’s always been true is that this club belongs to its supporters. That’s why I’m proud to lend my name to Burnley FC ISA. It’s grassroots, democratic and gives us a strong voice as fans. I believe it can play an important role in helping the club stay true to its roots while looking to the future.”
Three weeks after launching, membership numbers have continued to grow. It costs just £5 to JOIN Barry and the team which will give you membership until the end of July next year.
